The crew of Vladimir Vasilyev and Konstantin Zhiltsov competing for G-Energy Team has finished second in FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies classification following the results of Italian Baja '2014.
The Italian Baja '2014 has ended the last weekend in Pordenone, Italy. The World Cup stage is distinct from the other races of series with its unique route containing rivers' courses with coarse pebble and fords. Due to high water level in rivers and drastic snow melting in mountains, the route has been modified. In three days, the racing car drivers have passed 10 special tracts. Difference in racing results has been in seconds. Rally nature of the route, sharp bends for 90 degrees and bottlenecks have added up to the exciting race as it was.
Vladimir Vasilyev has estimated the action as follows: "We have managed to solidify positions in prestige classification of FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies. We endeavoured to drive fast and fail-safe, and we won only 18 seconds from the third place. I would like to express appreciation to G-Energy for the support. We can only count on future victories using high-quality oils and having the reliable partner".
Gazpromneft-Lubricants, Ltd being the manufacturer of G-Energy premium-quality oils is the G-Energy Racing Team partner since the beginning of 2014 within the program aimed at the domestic motor sports development. The company provides the own-produced lubricants and specialty liquids for testing under racing conditions on the team cars BMW X3 CC and MINI ALL4 Racing.
The crew of Ruslan Misikov/Vitaly Yevtekhov has also strengthened positions in FIA classification by receiving 12 points following the results of the race and taking the seventh position.
The next World Cup stage will take place on April 3-10 in Arab Emirates where the full-scale Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge cross country rally with double difficulty factor, and accordingly double portion of points, will be held.
