Technical specialists of Gazpromneft-Lubricants started to work within Silk Way Rally. For the fourth year the company has been testing its products in off-road competition, constantly expanding the program for G-Energy lubricants testing.
In the ongoing race the high-tech Gazpromneft – Lubricants products are used in units and components of MAZ-SPORTavto team vehicles.
Engines of combat vehicles topped up with G-Energy Racing SAE 10W-60 engine oil, and engines of truck technical support – with G-Profi MSI 10W-40. In transmissions of all team trucks are used the following products: in axles - G-Truck GL-5 75W-140, in the gear boxes and transfer boxes - G-Box GL-4/GL-5 75W-90. In hydraulic power steering the team applies G-Box Expert ATF DX III hydraulic fluid.
With the mobile lab right on the track daily lubricant monitoring is carried out. According to the results of express-analysis the drivers receive requirements to make the racing car ready for the next day of competition.
“Yesterday we estimated the dynamics of engine wear, set up all the days, watched the wear of metal, analyzed how lubricants work under the load. We evaluated car type and how it goes. At this stage, there are no corrections, our oils cope with the task, and they work stably"- said Stanislav Doroshenko, Head of Gazpromneft-Lubricants project for scientific and technical partnership with OEMs.
Sergey Vyazovich, Head of MAZ-SPORTauto team, pilot: “This year we put three cars on the Silk Way race. Two cars, mine and the one of Alexei Vishnevsky, are equipped with Gyrtech engines, and the car of Alexander Vasilevsky has the time-tested TMZ engine. G-Energy oils are used in all equipment, the use of which is based on many years of experience in the competitions. With the arrival of new engines in the team a few years ago we tried to "feed" them with the oil of a well-known European brand, but due to the combination of all facts, G-Energy won the opponent, and now we have a "monopoly".
The Silk Way Rally is an international competition held in Russia from 2009 and in some years in Central Asia and China. The race takes place off-road and on public roads. The task of each crew, consisting, as a rule, of a pilot and navigator (in truck crews as well as a mechanic) is to quickly overcome high-speed sections on a certain route, while marking at mandatory checkpoints. The winner of the race is determined by the minimum amount of time on the stages of all stages. Distances between high-speed sections pass along public roads, with observance of traffic rules and milestone schedule. The crews deviating from the schedule are fined, which are fixed in a special control card and taken into account for the calculation of the final result.
G-Energy is a premium brand of engine oils produced by Gazprom Neft for the most modern passenger cars of European, American and Japanese production. The unique adaptive ACF technology used in oil allows to enhance the necessary performance properties depending on the engine operating modes, at the right moment activating the necessary additives. The products are produced at the company's Gazpromneft-Lubricants plant in Bari, Italy. Lubricants have the approval of the world's leading manufacturers (MB, VW, BMW, Renault, GM, etc.). In 2013, Gazpromneft-Lubricants was the first company in the Russian market to produce a specialized line of 100% synthetic G-Energy Racing oils, specially developed for professional race cars and modern sports cars. G-Energy Racing oils provide maximum engine protection against wear and effectively protect its parts from the deposit formation, while maintaining performance even at the maximum loads typical for racing.
